About Purple Haze
Older than most of what sits on a menu today. Growers were passing this around in the late sixties, well before names went on packaging, and the song did the rest for its reputation. The line usually quoted is Haze crossed to Purple Thai, and it is the Thai side that pulls the reddish purple out when night temperatures drop in late bloom. It grows like the haze it is: long internodes, loose foxtailing colas, tall enough that you want a screen or an early top. What sets it apart from the old haze lines is that it handles cool and damp without folding. Eight to ten weeks of bloom, or fourteen to eighteen weeks from seed if you are planning a room.
