About Maui Wowie
Hawaii grew this one long before anybody was branding strains. It came up in island volcanic soil and travelled by word of mouth through the 1960s, which is why you still see it written Maui Waui or Mowie Wowie depending on who is talking. The genetics given for it are a Hawaiian sativa crossed at some point with an indica nobody can name, later stabilised into the feminized version sold now. In a tent it behaves like the lanky sativa it is, so top it or run low stress training early unless you have height to burn. It shrugs off pests better than most classics. The cost is patience: ten to twelve weeks of bloom before those long colas finish.
